A new house????

Chris' mom is in town from Florida, so we went over to her house for the Cowboy game today. The game didn't turn out the way we would have liked, but we still had a great time hanging with the fam. Her "home" is in Florida, but she's still here about 4 months out of the year. She lives in a very nice neighborhood in Mansfield, and there is a house for sale right down the street. Being that we are having 2 little luvbugs join our family of 3 next year, we will be needing a bigger house. The house for sale is just perfect for us...4 bedrooms, a study, 3 bathrooms, and a nice big backyard w/ out a pool (thank goodness...I'm over the pool thing). The study is a major thing for us because Chris works at home so often. He is having to give up his office now so Landon can have that room. The babies will get Landon's current room. All three children will have their own room in this new house, Chris will have an office, plus my mother-in-law will be in walking distance about 4 months out of the year. That is huge considering I will be needing all of the help I can get with twins and a toddler. We are gonna have our house appraised and hopefully get it on the market very soon. I know the economy is bad, but we need a bigger house so bad right now. I hope our house will sale quickly. I know that if God wants us to have this house, we will get it. I really really really love it! Anyhow...we had a great time over at Grandma's today. There are lots and lots of kiddos in her neighborhood, and after the Cowboy game, everyone came outside and gathered around in the driveway to have some drinks and visit while all of the kids played. It was so nice and exactly the type of neighborhood I want to live in.

Train Rides and Shocking News!

We took Landon on his first train ride last weekend. His grandparents (Chris' dad and step-mom) came with us. The train started in downtown Grapevine and went all the way to The Stockyards. The ride to Ft. Worth was about 1 1/2 hours long. Then you spend about 2 1/2 hours in The Stockyards and catch the train back to Grapevine. The train is like an old antique train with open-air carts to ride in. The weather was beautiful, so it felt so nice. While we were in Ft. Worth, we ate a late lunch, got our picture taken on a HUGE longhorn, rode fun little rides, shopped, and ate ice-cream cones. He wasn't sure about the big longhorn, so I (very carefully) climbed up on it with him. We all had such a nice time. Landon passed out on Grandpa's lap on the train ride back.

Now to the "Shocking News" part of the blog......
Well...I went in for my first sonogram today and we got the surprise of our life! We are having twins!!!!! Twins run in both of our families, so we knew there was a chance. It has not been confirmed, but I think the twins are fraternal. The sono pictures show two sacs...not just one. If there were just one, the babies would be identical. So...I guess there's a chance I could have a boy and a girl. I would just love that! Anyhow...Our family is about to change significantly. We are very excited to begin this new journey!

Last weekend was fun!

We had such a good time last weekend. We thought the weekend was going to be nothing but bad weather due to hurricane Ike, but that wasn't the case. Although Saturday was a complete washout, Sunday was beautiful! Saturday was filled with rain and wind, so we just stayed in our comfy cozies all day, watched football, cooked, and ate. Landon opened up the remainder of his birthday gifts, so he would have plenty to do while we were cooped up all day. One of his favorites is an easel that his Nommie and Poppie got for him. We played with it all day long. Check out the pics of him being artistic.

On Sunday morning, we woke up to perfect fall weather. Chris went to get donuts for breakfast, and then we headed to the park. Landon LOVES going to the park...especially when we bring Haley along for the fun. Landon likes to chase her all around in the grass. If you are familiar with my house, you know that our backyard is nothing but pool, so Landon loves to run wild when we go to the park. After about an hour of sliding, swinging, climbing, and running we headed home for lunch, a shower, and a nap. After a nice rest, we headed over to my friend Kimmie's for her daughter's b-day party. There was a bounce house, face-painting, a Barney pinata, and a Barney cake. We all know how much Landon adores Barney, so he was in Heaven. Landon had so much fun bouncing around with all of his buddies.

I also had a great time visiting with all of my best girlfriends. We don't get to see each other near as much as we used to. Within the past couple of years, we have all started families so our lives are so super busy now. Our time together is much different than it used to be. Before all of these precious babies got here, our times together were spent over shots and loud music in downtown Ft. Worth. Nowadays, our get-togethers are usually at birthday partys or showers and our conversations consist of what kinds of diapers we use or what kind of sale Gymboree is having. I absolutely love that we are all moving through these new stages in life together. I cherish all of my friendships with my girls. My girlfriends truly are the best!

Enjoy the pics of my little man! Talk to ya soon!

Lots to blog about...

Landon's little friend, Ava had her 4th b-day party on Saturday. She is the daughter of one of my friends, Sara. They had the party at a farm in Arlington. The farm was so neat. There was a little caged-in area with ducks, chickens, rabbits, goats, and baby pigs. The children could go in and feed/pet the animals. Landon LOVED being in this animal corral. We couldn't keep him out. He didn't really get the whole feeding thing, though. He would get the cup of food and dump it on the ground rather than hand feed the animals. He loved imitating the goat sounds (as seen in the picture with his mouth wide open). He started to get a bit "playful" with the bunny rabbits, so one of then launched itself through the air and right into Landon's chest....it was super hilarious, wish I could have gotten a pic. The party also consisted of pony rides, which we forced Landon to do. He was less than thrilled about it (refer to picture:)) There was also this game called "Chase the Pig". This ENORMOUSLY FAT pig ran wild in the yard while all of the kiddos chased after it in hopes of capturing the flag that was attached to it's collar. I was laughing so hysterically during this, I never could get a picture. There was also a hayride, cake, and presents. It was a great party and the kids had so much fun. Happy Birthday Ava!

Thursday night we went to the golf range so Landon could try out his new club that Daddy got him. He also bought him a mini golf bag that is super precious. He now has a real putter, 6-iron, and golf bag. He's on his way to being a pro golfer!

We have been keeping ourselves pretty busy lately. Like I said before, Landon started preschool and he still loves it. He always says, "Mommy, I want school friends". He actually had some homework this weekend. We had to make a "Friends and Family Poster". I went over to Johnna's, and she helped me make it all cutsie cause she has all that scrapbooking stuff. It has pictures of all of his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends, and Landon will share it with his class tomorrow. Above is a picture of him in his classroom last week.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. It's back to work tomorrow...I have my first Dr. appointment on Thursday for the new baby, so I'll let everyone know how that goes as soon as I can. Have a great week!!!

Labor Day

Today is Labor Day and we had so much fun just hanging around the house and enjoying family time. Chris and I were both off work, so we were able to spend the whole day with Landon. We went swimming and grilled burgers...or as Landon would say, we grilled "omboogers". We have been so busy lately with school starting, we haven't been in the pool in a while. Landon was used to getting in like everyday, so he was very excited to splash around today. Landon also helped his daddy build a new shelf for his room. He loved the drills and screwdrivers...100% boy. We also got some very exciting news this weekend. Landon is going to be a big brother! Baby #2 is due to join us around May 7. We are thrilled!!!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Here are a few pics of Landon today. He helped Chris build and he helped me prepare dinner. He's such a big boy now!
